Timber Marking or Designation and Trail Layout
Granite State Forestry Services typically marks every tree on your woodlot that is going to be cut. This will assure you, the landowner, that the correct silvicultural method is being applied and that the correct trees are being cut. Along with marking the trees, a system of trails will be set up to be able to access the marked or designated trees in the most efficient and least impacting way possible. Since we work closely with the logging crews, it is sometimes not necessary to mark every tree but rather designate which cutting method needs to be applied to different sections of the woodlot.
